The Company for Vaccine and Biological Production No.1 was established under the decision No. 650/2000/QD-BYT dated March 2nd, 2000 by the Minister of Health,  as a State Own Company belongs to The National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, Hanoi-Vietnam. Since May 25^th, 2007 the Company was spined off   the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology and became an independent company under the Ministry of Health of Vietnam.

  The functions of the Company are manufacturing and trading vaccines and biological products for human use, analyzing samples of new developing vaccines and biological products (including diagnostic kits and prophylaxis treatment products, pharmaceuticals; Healthcare services..). Annually these vaccines are provided to Expanded Program on Immunization and domestic demand.

  Vaccine is a biological product that can induce long-lasting protection immunity for humans by active immunization. WHO, UNICEF and UNDP realize that immunization would be the most effective intervention in overcoming infectious in community, reducing both mortality and morbidity rates, especially amongst newborns, children under 5 years and pregnant women.

  The annual income is about 5 millions US$.
